Who are we ?
We are a non-profit organisation funded by donations and grants. Membership to our group is limited to those who have suffered the loss of a loved one through homicide. We meet as a group on the THIRD Tuesday of every month.
With the exception of representatives of certain government agencies, these meetings are limited to members and their families, and invited guest speakers.
Representatives from the W.A. Police - Major Crime Squad and the W.A. Government's Victim Support Services attend nearly all of our meetings. All attendees are bound to a confidentiality agreement.
The Homicide Victims Support Group (WA) Inc. [HVSG (WA) Inc] offers peer-to-peer support by and for those who have lost a loved one through homicide. We are not a counselling service, and cannot offer professional or legal advice. Please refer to the "Links" section for these services.
Our Aims
- To increase the level of support for those who have lost a loved one through homicide
- To increase the quality of information and communication between all parties concerned
- To help people become aware of resources in the community which could assist them
Our Purpose
To improve the level of support for the secondary victims of homicide, and to further develop & enhance the aims of the group, through this dedicated internet website by providing and sharing relevent information.
THE ONLY WAY WE CAN BRING ABOUT CHANGE IS TO GET ACTIVELY INVOLVED
